This has been an incredibly interesting (and emotionally draining) week for me! My guest post How To Make Better Decisions Using a Framework on the Financial Samurai’s site brought some wonderful comments and it was great fun interacting with so many new people. I have followed Sam for years and he is truly a pleasure to work with. He is changing lives – one post at a time and I know many of you would agree!
I also had amazing visitors here at Make Smarter Decisions! In just one week, I connected with people from all over the world. Readers commented from Belgium, London, Malaysia, and Australia – and those are just the readers I have met! I feel so honored and privileged that you have taken time from your busy days to stop by.
If you haven’t commented, please take a minute and let me know where you are from! I am going to create a world map of visitors to my site to share with you. I learned this week that we can be on opposite sides of the world, live in very different cultures, and be generations apart in age – yet still struggle with very similar decisions!
Although I had not planned on writing more until tomorrow, I think a few minutes of reflection will help me move on to new topics next week. After completing the decision-making process and reflecting on each part of it, I was confident with my analysis. Even if it is not the “perfect” decision, I think I have minimized the possible regrets.
Letting It Go Is Paying It Forward best explains how I am feeling about turning down the full-time job this week. I was thrilled when I found out who will be taking my full-time position. The person is incredibly talented and will bring much experience and enthusiasm to the job!
Not only is this person a talented educator, the person is also very involved in giving back to young people in the community. This new position will allow the person more time and flexibility to devote to a group of children who deserve special attention. I also hope to devote more time to volunteering as well as I shift to part-time work. In this case, Letting It Go Is Paying It Forward in so many ways.
I’ll wrap this week up by previewing next week’s decision topic – “What house should I/We buy?”
But WAIT – if you read my posts this week, did you notice anything about that question? If you did, let me know in the comments! If you didn’t – make sure you check out my other posts and I hope that you will all stop back again next week!
