Do you need help making a big decision?
Education – Trying to decide on a college? Or are you considering going back to school for an advanced degree? Maybe you can’t figure out what major would be best for you?
Career and Employment – Have you been offered a job and are you struggling to decide whether to take it or not? Or are you considering changing jobs? Maybe you are thinking about changing careers? What about jobs in new cities and the moving dilemma on top of the job change? Are you thinking of leaving work to stay at home to care for a child or relative?
Housing – Struggling with the rent or buy dilemma? Or maybe where to buy a house or which house to buy in a certain area? Are you thinking of moving into a bigger house or renovating your current house – and still can’t decide? Maybe you are thinking about buying rental properties? Or maybe a vacation home? Are you thinking about options for moving a loved one to a higher care facility – but you are just not sure what to do?
Vehicles and Recreation – Thinking about buying an RV or a camper? Maybe a boat? Maybe you are having a disagreement about where to spend your winter “snow birding” this year?
Retirement– Considering retiring but not sure when or if it is really the “right” time? Are you thinking of moving when you retire but you can’t decide where to go? What about early retirement – are you ready to “FIRE” but you can’t make up your mind?
These are all excellent questions and they can certainly make you anxious or indecisive!
If you are interested in working with me, I would be happy to talk with you about decision coaching. You can check my credentials on the “My Story” page. Also, please make sure to look at what I have already written on a variety of topics. Many posts contain links to suggested websites and books that may help you move forward with your decision.
At this time, I am offering free coaching. I limit the number of people I work with so that I can provide high quality coaching. My goal is to provide you with the tools and feedback you need to move forward in your decision process.
I did add a “donate” button to the blog. My goal is to allow clients to donate money to support the blog and my coaching services rather than charge people a fee. I don’t want to turn people down because of their lack of ability to pay. I am also looking for site sponsors so that I will be able to continue to offer free high-quality coaching services too.
You can email me at MakeSmarterDecisions@gmail.com or connect with me through the “Contact Me” link below if you have any questions at all. I have worked with people on decisions including leaving full-time employment to stay at home, retiring early at a young age, and on making a career and location change with a young family. These are in addition to all of my own life decisions I have shared on the blog.
Please don’t hesitate at all to contact me! I will always try to respond in a timely manner and I will definitely let you know if I don’t think I can be helpful to you. You won’t regret making the contact!
This is in related to a relocation decision.
*My girlfriend and I were suffering from analysis paralysis when it came to choosing the “perfect” city for us to relocate to. With so many great choices, we were having a difficult time identifying the best place that fit our moving criteria. We had never considered engaging a decision making consultant before and feel very lucky to have been introduced to Vicki. Vicki’s method of sorting through the details to get clarity in our decision was amazing. She was able to get us to step back a bit and clearly identify what exactly we were looking for in our move. After defining a clear set of criteria that was custom tailored to our needs and wants, Vicki helped us create a decision making matrix that objectively identified our best location to relocate to. We are so glad we worked with Vicki as we are now living in what we feel is our “dream” location. Had we not worked with Vicki, we would not have made the decision as quick as we did and would likely still be spinning our wheels back in our previous hometown. We would highly recommend Vicki to anyone who wants to work with a kind hearted yet objective professional who will give you the infrastructure and guidance needed to make impactful, life changing decisions. Thanks Vicki!
The next two reviews are related to career decisions:
*It definitely wasn’t an easy decision, but…It was much easier to take the position after laying out the issues with you. I needed to make the decision quick. Thank you for your help. It was good to talk. Definitely continue to consult decision making processes with people. You have a knack for good decision making and relating to people.
*I was considering a career change and struggling with a traditional pros and cons approach. Vicki had a call with me and coached me through the matrix for evaluating my options and helped me decide that the new job was not for me. It’s been over a year and I am very comfortable with the decision I made to stick with my current job.
This review involves both a career and relocation decision:
“I was very torn between a major decision in my life regarding whether or not to relocate to pursue a job opportunity in another state or stay close to family in my current state. Vicki assisted me in the process and provided useful tools in how to prioritize and understand the decision question. She was prompt, attentive and creative and helped me immensely. I am truly grateful to her and would highly recommend her services. ”
